Overview

The St Neots Riverside Runners Half Marathon is firmly established on the race calendar with a developing reputation for being a top class event. The course is renowned as potential for PB's as its three mile downhill finish allows for some seriously fast times. The event regularly sells out at its maximum capacity of race entries within hours of opening so be sure to mark the date in your calendar and follow our facebook page for updates! The new and improved start/finish since 2015 has worked really well and will be in place again for this year.

Half Marathon Route

Route Info

The route is a one-lap course on country roads. The course, which is slightly undulating, will be fully marshalled and policed. You must obey the instructions of the marshals and/or police at all times. You MUST race on the LEFT HAND SIDE of the road unless instructed otherwise by a marshal.

Arrival & Registration

PLEASE NOTE you will collect your race pack at registration on the day of the event. Nothing will be posted prior to the event.

A FULL race brief will be emailed to your registered email address during the week leading up to the event. If for any reason you don’t receive this email, full race information will be available HERE at least two days prior to the event, Please ensure you check the web site and your email prior to travel for any important updates.

Registration will be open from 07.30 - 09.30 on race day only. Please ensure you arrive early to avoid that last minute rush

Toilets & Baggage

Race Headquarters is where you will find limited toilets, showers, changing rooms and refreshment facilities. Extra Portable toilets will be situated outside the building at the School. There will be limited last minute portable  toilets at the start. DO NOT USE THE STREETS AS A TOILET. anyone caught will be instantly disqualified, its also illegal and there will be plenty of police around, you have been warned.

A supervised baggage storage area will be provided at HQ. fill in your label and hand it in. Storage will be at the owner’s risk.

Minimum Age of Competitors

The minimum age to take part in this event is 17 years old on Race Day.

Parking

Parking will be at the venue and surrounding approved car parks follow marshals and signs.

Please DO NOT park in the surrounding streets, there is plenty of parking at the venue

Identification

You will be issued with a race number which must be clearly visible either on your front at all times. Number belts are allowed, all we ask it that we can see your number at the timing points as a backup to the electronic system. YOU MUST NOT ALLOW ANY ONE ELSE TO RACE WITH YOUR NUMBER.

Safety

If circumstances deem the course or travel conditions to be unsafe or it falls outside of the UKA guidelines, Organisers have the right to change/move, or cancel the event at short notice.

Chip Timing & Results

Chip Timing Solutions will provide computerised chip timing via an electronic chip system that will be issued to you with your number. Your finish time and splits will be available as you cross the line and for your spectators live online via a smart phone instantly.

Race Start & Pre-Race Briefing

Main race start will be at 10 am. Ensure you are on Cromwell Road which is a five minute walk from race HQ (follow signs) ready for race briefing at 09.50 am

Water Stations

Drink stations at approximately 3, 6, 9 and 11 miles.

Bottle water will be supplied at the water stations, There will be numerous BOTTLE & GEL drops around the course please ensure you use them or carry it until you find one. RANDOM BOTTLE & GEL DROPPING WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION.

Keep Racing Tidy

If you intend on using race nutrition please keep hold of the empty wrappers untill you reach a suitable place to discard it. We would apprieciate if you could either wait until you reach designated water stations or alternately please drop them by race signage or a marshal point so they can be collected during the race clean up.

Fun Run

Fun Run will start at 09:00 am. The start and finish will be at the same start line as the Half Marathon, allowing the kids to have the same spectacle as the Main race. The course is a multiple looped course on the closed road section . There will be plenty of marshals and signs.
